Chapel Kids

At The Chapel, our children’s ministry, The Great Adventure (TGA) welcomes infants through fifth graders. We provide environments and opportunities that position them to experience God with a community of people who love advancing God’s kingdom! The Great Adventure is more than the name of our ministry – it’s our message! When we live life with God at the center, we’re livin’ the great adventure.

At all of our Chapel campuses, safety is a top priority in our ministry. From our screening process for volunteers to our attention to food allergies, our ministry approach is designed to ensure your kids are well cared for in safe environments.

Today’s kids are craving excitement and meaningful experiences. In TGA, we love showing kids that the life they are dreaming about is described in the Bible and available through a vibrant faith in Jesus. Our curriculum tells The Big God Story, the overarching story of redemption from Genesis to Revelation. The Bible comes alive as kids discover things about God’s love, wisdom, power and presence through meaningful activities and small group time.

Parents are meant to be the primary influencers of their child’s faith.  We provide weekly pre-teach sheets and a great monthly magazine resource called HomeFront to allow families to develop a rhythm of home-discipleship with their kids.

Special Friends

We count it a privilege to serve children with special needs and to share God’s love with them. Getting to know each family allows us to customize a care plan that works best for their child and the dedicated, loving volunteer partnered with them. Special Friends ministry is currently available at our Grayslake, Libertyville and Palatine campuses.

5th Grade FORCE Discipleship

In the final year in Children’s Ministry, we offer many opportunities designed to help your children grow as they prepare to transition to Chapel Students, our middle school through high school ministry. 5th grade midweek discipleship studies, “sleep-ins”, serving opportunities, and a two-night Winter retreat help guide students toward fully embracing their faith and making it their own! Contact your Children’s Director for a parent information packet!

This midweek discipleship program, recognized worldwide for reaching kids with the gospel, equips leaders with proven resources and expertise to help families develop lifelong disciples of Christ. Awana is held at our Palatine Campus. For questions or to sign up, contact Michelle Heberling at
