COVID-19 UPDATE | SEPTEMBER 2021

Dear Chapel family,

Over the past few weeks, it has been great to see so many of you returning to our in-person gatherings and to be able to experience God together! The energy and enthusiasm have been palpable. God is moving, and we could not be more excited to be moving with him.

At the same time, we are mindful of the recent rise in COVID-19 cases due to the Delta variant. Even as I raise this subject, I’m sensitive to how many of us are experiencing emotional fatigue from both the duration and difficulty of this pandemic. I’m also aware that any perspective offered around our current reality has the potential to evoke a spectrum of passionate opinions. Despite those realities, I want you to know that we genuinely care about you and what you are feeling at this moment and I want to take time to outline the steps we are taking at The Chapel as we journey through this together.

As a church, our priority is to provide you with the opportunity to encounter God, deepen your life with him and with other believers, and enter into the fullness of all he has for you – in ways that best serve the circumstances you’re attempting to navigate. For that reason, we are taking these steps to help you make the best choice for you and your family:

– Masks and sanitizer will continue to be available at our campuses on Sundays and throughout the week.

–  At campuses where space permits, we invite you to worship and watch the weekend teaching from the lobby if you prefer a more socially distanced setting than the auditorium. Likewise, our Mundelein campus hosts outdoor gatherings at 9 & 11AM on Sundays for anyone who wishes to worship outside

–  If you need to stay home due to illness or risk, we will continue to offer our Online Community on Sunday mornings as well as online options for Chapel Kids and Chapel Students.

Overall, we trust you to make the best decision for you and your family and support you in whatever you choose. I know that this has been a difficult season and will continue to be and want you to know that we are here for you.

With a deep love and affection for you all, your brother,

Scott
