Part 6: Come Alive - Faith
This week, Denvil continued our series, Come Alive, by looking at the life of Esther. The Book of Esther is a powerful narrative of God’s unwavering faithfulness in the midst of sin, brokenness, and moral chaos. What makes the story of Esther so unique is the absence of any direct references to God—no temple, no worship, no direct acknowledgment of his presence. Though God’s name is never mentioned, Esther’s life is filled with “it just so happened” moments that are anything but coincidence. From Esther, a Jewish orphan becoming queen of Persia, to Mordecai overhearing a plot against the king, to Mordecai’s life being saved by the king’s sleepless night, each event showcases God’s providence and faithfulness even when his presence is not specifically mentioned.
Think back on your own life to the moments that seemed like random coincidences—a chance meeting, an unexpected opportunity, or a sudden change in circumstances. What if those moments were actually divine interventions? God is not distant or passive; he is actively orchestrating his plans in our lives. When our eyes are opened to see this, it’s impossible to unsee it. What once felt like good luck or coincidence becomes undeniable evidence of his care, and all we can see is his goodness. His faithfulness becomes the filter through which we view every moment—past, present, and future. The story of Esther reminds us that God is always moving on our behalf, weaving His goodness into our lives, even when we don’t recognize it in the moment.
