The Chapel’s leadership team works to help bring the mission, vision, and values God has given the Chapel into the communities where it’s campuses exist and beyond.

Scott Chapman

SENIOR PASTOR

Scott received his Master’s degree at Trinity International University and co-founded The Chapel in 1994. In addition to serving as Senior Pastor of The Chapel, he helps lead a national network of churches called Christ Together. Scott’s passion is to give his life to serving Jesus and to see as many people as possible brought into the fullness of God’s Kingdom. Scott and his wife, Tammy, have four children including their daughter-in-law and a grandchild who bring them so much joy.

Jamie Wamsley

Associate Senior Pastor

Jamie Wamsley serves as the Associate Senior Pastor of The Chapel and serves as our Grayslake Campus Pastor and our Libertyville Campus Pastor. Jamie graduated with a degree in business from Indiana University in 1995 and served in a Mexican orphanage before joining The Chapel’s staff team in 1997. After being called to The Chapel, Jamie met his wife Tracey here and together they have enjoyed raising their five children alongside the community at The Chapel.

Ryan Chevrier

Executive Pastor

Ryan serves as the Executive Pastor at The Chapel and also serves as a Co-Campus Pastor at The Chapel Grayslake and The Chapel Libertyville. He graduated from Trinity International University with his BA in Business Management and achieved his CPA in 2003. Ryan and his wife Somer have called the Chapel their church home for nearly two decades and are blessed to raise their family to know and love Jesus here.

Freddy Villarreal

Associate Senior Pastor

Freddy Villarreal is an Associate Senior Pastor here at The Chapel and the Senior Pastor of Freedom Life Church in Hampton, VA, Norfolk, VA, and San Antonio, TX. He and his wife, Jen, have five amazing kids, one daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren. In his spare time, Freddy enjoys golf, and he and Jen love trying new restaurants together.  Freddy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership and Development. His passion is preaching and consulting in the areas of individual and organizational leadership development.

Anthony Taylor

Director of Chapel Kids & Chapel Students

Anthony Taylor is the Director of Chapel Kids and Chapel Students here at The Chapel, where he has been given the unofficial title of “Ambassador of Fun”! Anthony loves seeing the next generation come alive to God and find Jesus as their friend. In his spare time, Anthony loves spending time with his wife, Beth, and their two children most of all. When he’s not with them, his next favorite hobby is building and racing motorcycles!

Tammy Chapman

Director of Kingdom Ministry

Tammy is the Director of Kingdom Ministry at The Chapel, where she leads the development and activities of the prayer teams, helping to advance the kingdom throughout our communities. She is a wife to Scott, a mother of four, including her daughter-in-law, and a proud “nana.” Tammy enjoys seeing people encounter God and experience the power and healing found in the reality of his kingdom.

Ellie Dole

Director of Communications

Ellie is a follower of Jesus, wife to her best friend Blake, and mom of three littles – Rowan, Oliver, and Briggs. In 2019, Ellie and Blake moved to Lake County to serve on staff at The Chapel, where she is the Director of Communications and a member of the Executive Team. Ellie is passionate about people having an opportunity to meet and enter into a relationship with Jesus and the Church’s role in that. A good breakfast restaurant, bright colors, and finding furniture on Facebook Marketplace are a few other things she loves.

Jeremiah Carlson

Pastor of Worship

Jeremiah, his wife Kara, and their four children have been at The Chapel for five years, where he serves as the Pastor of Worship and leads weekend worship at The Chapel Grayslake. Jeremiah is passionate about people experiencing and knowing the radical love of God as their father and experiencing the life change that brings.

MEET OUR CAMPUS PASTORS

Denvil Lee

Denvil Lee serves as the Campus Pastor of The Chapel Lake Zurich and The Chapel’s Young Adults Pastor. Originally from Jamaica, Denvil moved to the United States as a child, gaining a unique perspective on faith and community. In 2020, he and his wife, Krista, along with their three children, relocated from South Florida to Illinois. In their free time, the Lee family enjoys exploring the outdoors, hiking trails, or gathering around the firepit to share stories and roast marshmallows. They love embracing the beauty of each season and cherish the simple moments spent together.

Kenny Hackbarth

Kenny is the Campus Pastor of The Chapel McHenry. He and his wife Katie grew up in Kenosha, WI, and fell in love their senior year of high school. Together, they have three boys, Gavin, Liam and Graham. After spending half a decade serving at a church in Central Illinois, they moved to the Northwest Suburbs to join The Chapel family! Kenny’s heart is to help people experience and prioritize the presence of God. In his free time, Kenny loves trying new coffee spots, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Brad Gustafson

Brad is the Campus Pastor at The Chapel Whitewater. He and his wife, Laura, were married in 2009. Together, they have four amazing daughters: Addison, Charlotte, Marlowe, and Rowan. Brad loves to mountain bike, work with his hands in the garage, watch a good movie, and enjoy a burrito from Chipotle or a cold brew from Starbucks (depending on the time of day.) His greatest joy is watching people come to know who they are in the eyes of Jesus and how they can partner with him to see his kingdom advance.

Andy Graf

Andy is the pastor of our Milton, WI campus. He grew up in Madison, WI, and later attended college at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, where he met his wife, Sarah. They have been blessed with two miracle sons, Judah and Wesley. Andy likes a little coffee with his creamer, enjoys any good superhero movie, and is an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Wisconsin Badgers. Because of his deep love for the Lord, Andy is passionate about seeing people get to know and love God for themselves and discover what it means to be a valued part of God’s kingdom.

Geoff McNett

Geoff McNett is the pastor of The Chapel Jefferson. He grew up in Horseheads, New York, before moving to Lakeland, Florida, where he met his wife Brittni. They have been married since 2009 and have 2 amazing kids named Desmond and Eleanor. The entire McNett family loves animals of all kinds, but Geoff is quite fond of his dogs and turtles. Geoff is a fan of the New York Giants, the Miami Heat, and Star Trek. He also enjoys a card or board game along with a good home-cooked meal. He has a passion for loving people and helping them heal and grow in their relationship with God to help them find how they can further his kingdom.

Bryan Peetoom



Bryan Peetoom has served as a pastor at The Chapel for over 13 years and is currently the pastor at The Chapel Mundelein. Bryan and his wife Julia have two children, and together, they love to go on adventures throughout the Chicagoland area and never miss out on a chance to have some fun! An avid runner, Bryan has run multiple marathons and also enjoys refereeing youth sports in his spare time. More than anything, though, he desires people to experience the love and compassion of Jesus through the body of the church.

 

Blake Dole

Blake is the Campus Pastor at The Chapel Palatine. He enjoys getting to know people who call our church home and partnering with them as they live out the lives God called them to. Before coming to The Chapel, Blake worked in education as a teacher and administrator, primarily working with students with special needs. Blake and his wife, Ellie, will celebrate 12 years of marriage this summer and have three kids (Rowan – 8, Oliver – 4, Briggs – 2) and two large dogs (Grover – 2, Tilly – 1). Some of Blake’s favorite things are adventuring with the family, doing projects around the house, and watching sports (Go Cubs and Packers!).
