Palm Sunday

As Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds hailed him as king, yet his throne looked nothing like what they expected. It wasn’t a seat of power or a display of force—it was a donkey, a humble procession, a quiet but undeniable claim. And today, that same King comes to each of us, not to rule from a distance, but to take his rightful place at the center of our lives.

So often, we try to be king of our own lives—holding the reins, calling the shots, guarding our comfort and control. But Holy Week invites us to step off our throne and welcome the true King. Jesus doesn’t just want to be king for some areas of life; he wants to be king for all. He wants to lead, guide, and bring life into every corner of our hearts, our choices, and our relationships.

This Holy Week, we are invited to step aside and let Jesus take the throne. Surrendering is not a one-time act but a daily choice to trust his reign, even when it feels costly or uncomfortable. When we invite him to be King over every part of our lives—our habits, our relationships, our fears—we experience the peace and freedom that come from living under his rule. Saying yes to Jesus as King doesn’t hold back life; it opens us to the fullness of the kingdom he came to bring.
