Mountains - Week 2

This past Sunday Jamie spoke about powerful mountaintop moments with God, both in Scripture and in our personal lives. He started with a story about skiing in the Swiss Alps and used that breathtaking experience to set the stage for talking about Mount Moriah—a place where heaven and earth seemed to meet. It’s the spot where Abraham was asked to sacrifice Isaac, and later, where Solomon built the temple. These moments show how God invites His people into deep trust and relationship.

But the big truth Jamie unpacked is that through Jesus, we no longer need to go to a mountain or a temple to meet with God—we are now the temple. God’s Spirit lives in us! That means every believer is like a “cosmic mountain”—a living intersection between heaven and earth. Still, it’s easy to feel far from God because of two things: disobedience and distraction. He used a sponge as an illustration—how some of us are only slightly soaked in God’s presence instead of fully saturated.

The message ended with a challenge to move from connection to immersion. We were encouraged to take steps toward obedience and cut out distractions so we can be more aware of God’s presence each day. To learn more click below to listen to the full message.
