Sunday School Remix - Week 1
This week, we kicked off a new series, Sunday School Remix, where we’re revisiting stories many of us first heard as kids, starting with Noah and the flood. This isn’t just a story about animals and rainbows. It’s a story of uncommon holiness in the midst of a broken world.
Genesis describes Noah as righteous, blameless, and someone who walked with God, even when no one else did. In a culture consumed by violence and corruption, Noah stood out. He lived differently. And because of his faithfulness, God chose him to be the beginning of something new.
The flood wasn’t just an act of judgment—it was a divine reset. If you look closely, the whole story mirrors the creation account in Genesis 1. First, everything unravels. Waters rise, boundaries collapse, and creation is undone. But then God begins to rebuild. The waters recede, dry land appears, life is restored, and the creation mandate is renewed.
At the heart of this new beginning is a call to holiness. Not perfection, but a willingness to be set apart. Holiness looks like loving others radically in a world that tells us to put ourselves first. Giving generously, even when it’s uncomfortable. Walking with God—not just in the big moments, but daily, consistently, and closely.
When we live like Noah, we don’t just experience personal transformation—we become part of God’s ongoing work to renew and restore the world around us.
