Part 3: The Hope of Revival: Our Approach

This week, Jamie concluded our series, The Hope of Revival, by looking at Matthew 14:24-33, where Peter walks on water with Jesus. This story reveals something profound about our relationship with God. Peter didn’t just view Jesus as a teacher imparting knowledge but rather as someone whose life he was called to imitate. When Jesus called Peter to step out of the boat, it wasn’t just to prove who Jesus was—it was to shape Peter’s identity as his disciple. In the same way, being a disciple of Jesus today is not just about learning doctrines but about living a life that truly reflects his. As Dallas Willard said, a disciple is someone who lives the life Jesus would live if he had their life. This idea challenges us to reflect on how we follow Jesus in our daily lives—within our jobs, families, and communities.

To truly live as disciples of Jesus, we must seek to live like him—prioritizing time with God, sharing the message of his kingdom, and believing that miracles can happen through us. Imagine a world where people come alive to God, and revival spreads simply because we choose to live as Jesus would. The hope of revival is Jesus in you! Jesus in you is the hope of the world.
