More Than Free: Repentance that Brings Life in the Wilderness
Near the end of Israel’s forty years in the wilderness, an unexpected detour brings their frustration to the surface. They become impatient, complain against Moses and God, and even begin looking back at Egypt as if life there had been better. God brings correction, and when poisonous snakes enter the camp, the people finally recognize how far they have gone and say, “We have sinned.” God tells Moses to lift a bronze snake on a pole, and anyone who has been bitten can look at it and live.
