Part 4: Come Alive - Obedience
This weekend, Scott continued our Come Alive series by looking at the life of Moses. Moses was born to Hebrew parents but raised as an Egyptian prince. Around the age of 40, he became a fugitive and then eventually settled in Midian, got married, and became a shepherd. But everything changed when God met him at the burning bush. In that powerful encounter, Moses moved from simply knowing about God to experiencing him personally. This moment reshaped his identity and purpose, as God called him to lead the Israelite people out of slavery and into freedom.
God’s call to Moses wasn’t based on his skill set or qualifications; in fact, Moses himself felt unworthy and ill-equipped for the task. Yet, God reassured him that his own presence and power would be more than enough. This story beautifully reminds us that God’s call is not merely to live for him but to live with him—walking in a close relationship with him and leaning on his strength. Like Moses, when we draw near to God, we find ourselves empowered to fulfill his purpose, even when we feel inadequate. Through God, we are equipped to do what we could never accomplish alone.
