DAY EIGHT

Day Eight

Imagine the conversation between the shepherds after the angels leave.

                Can you believe that just happened? Did you see how big that first angel was?
                How many of them do you think here were?
                I wish we could have talked to them. I have a million questions.

As the shepherds process the incredible experience of encountering heavenly angels, the news about the Messiah starts to sink in, and they are filled with expectant faith. Knowing the Savior has been born is no longer enough – they need to see him for themselves. So they take off for Bethlehem, where they find Jesus lying in a manger, just as they had been told.

Like the shepherds received the news that God’s promise was fulfilled and the messiah had been born, God is sending you messages of promises he wants to fulfill for you, too.

                My healing is for you. 
                I will never leave you.
                That broken relationship can be restored. 
                Anxiety won’t plague you forever. 
                My plans for you are good. 

Whatever message God is speaking to your heart, he doesn’t want you to just hear about it; he wants you to experience it. So, allow what God is speaking to fuel your seeking. And as you pursue Jesus, you will see his promises are true.

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13 NLT)

Prayer

Jesus, I don’t want to be content with just hearing about your goodness. I want to experience it. Help me draw near to you in a meaningful way every day. And as I do, have your way in my life.
