Part 7: Come Alive - Gratitude
This week, we concluded our Come Alive series by reflecting on Psalm 103. In this psalm, David commands his soul—the entirety of who he is, including his mind, will, and emotions—to praise the Lord and remember his benefits. Likewise, when we intentionally choose praise and gratitude, it shifts our focus from our circumstances to God’s unchanging character.
The benefits of God include forgiveness, healing, redemption, purpose, and strength. These benefits are not transactional but relational, drawing us closer to God himself. He forgives our sins through his grace and mercy, heals our diseases, and redeems us from the pit, giving us purpose and crowning us with his love. As we navigate the tension of the “now and not yet” of God’s kingdom, we can trust his goodness. Even when outcomes don’t align with our desires, we can know he satisfies us with what is truly good and renews our strength like the eagles.
Gratitude has the power to transform our hearts and lives. It strengthens relationships, improves sleep, self-esteem, and mental health, and opens us to experience even more of his blessings. As we recount his benefits, we grow in trust and joy, finding strength and hope in his presence. Click on the link below to hear the entire message!
