Things Jesus Never Said

Things Jesus Never Said - The World Says, "You Get What You Deserve," Jesus Says, "Mercy Over Merit."

“You get what you deserve” sounds fair until we take an honest look at our own lives. In Luke 23, the criminal beside Jesus knows he deserves his sentence. He has no time to fix his life, make up for his past, or prove himself. All he can do is turn to Jesus and ask, “Remember me.” And Jesus responds with grace. The gospel is not first about what we do, but what Jesus has already done. At the cross, Jesus took what He did not deserve so He could give us what we could never earn.
