Breakthrough

Hannah lived with deep longing and deep pain. In her anguish, she cried out to the Lord, and God responded by giving her a son, beginning a redemptive future from a place of pain. Then, instead of clinging tightly to what she had received, Hannah offered Samuel back to God. In doing so, she became part of a much larger story, one in which God was raising up a prophet who would shape the future of Israel. Often, God’s kingdom breaks through when we surrender our pain to him and trust him to bring forth his purpose.
